SCC HIGHWAYS NOTICE TO INSTALL SPEED CALMING SCHEME FOR EASTON
We are writing to inform you of our plans to install traffic calming measures at various sections of the roads detailed below. This scheme is being delivered using funding received by Easton Parish Council, from the Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL). The work will involve new road markings being installed, new gateway signs which have been supplied by Easton Parish Council and traffic calming buildouts within the highway.
Phase 1 - C239 The Street, Easton (Framlingham Road to School Lane)
Phase 2 - C237 Framlingham Road, Easton (from Kettleburgh Road for approx. 240m northbound)
Diversion route for phases 1 & 2 – Wickham Market Road, Easton Road, Hacheston, B1116, Easton Road, Framlingham, Dark Lane, Framlingham Road, Easton and vice versa.
Phase 3 - C235 Kettleburgh Road, Easton (from Framlingham Road for approximately 440m northwest bound)
Diversion route for phase 3 – Framlingham Road, Easton, Dark Lane, Easton Road, Framlingham, B1116, Kettleburgh Road, Framlingham, Framlingham Road, Kettleburgh, School Hill, Road from B1116 to C235, The Street, Kettleburgh, Easton Road, Kettleburgh, Kettleburgh Road, Easton and vice versa.
Phase 4 - C302 Sanctuary Bridge Road, Easton – From the junction with The Street to the junction with Hall Road.
Diversion route for Phase 4 – Hall road, Cooks Hill, Park Road, B1078, B1116, Easton Road, Hacheston, Wickham Market Road, The Street and vice versa.
The works are programmed to start on 1 August 2022 and will continue for two weeks, excluding the weekends. The roads will be closed in phases to ensure the safety of our workforce and road users.
Pedestrian and vehicular access to properties will be available; however, there may be a short delay to enable our teams to make the area safe.
As we plan roadworks in advance, we schedule extra days to allow for bad weather or other delays beyond our control. If we need to make major changes to our work dates, we will update the information signs on site.
A plan showing the diversion route for these works below. When we close the road and put a diversion in place, the route needs to be accessible to vehicles of all shapes and sizes. We make our diversions as clear as possible by placing appropriate signing along the route.
